From Senegal to New York!
I was raised in a culture where hair braiding was an integral and cherished practice. I grew up in a home with seven sisters, and from a young age we spent our days designing hairstyles and doing each other’s hair. At the age of sixteen, I left my home country of Senegal for the USA. My journey to the USA was a huge shift! I arrived in New York, and the very next day I started a job in Harlem as a hair braider.

I started out making money as an employee to support my family in Senegal, but I grew into a business owner over time. I went on to obtain my cosmetology license, a Master’s in Mental Health, and a CASAC. My journey was long and hard, but I believed in myself and my capabilities.

As a stylist, it is my number one priority to beautify my customers. With over twenty five years of industry experience, I have developed strong bonds with many of my clients that transcend simply styling their hair. We have formed a sisterhood wherein we have watched and supported each other’s growth while offering guidance and encouragement to each other. At my salon, our philosophy is that every client should feel at home with us. Our job is to beautify our clients through active listening, comprehension of their needs, and transformation of their appearance to the best of our abilities.
